Study the Health, Safety and Nutrition for Young Children Proficiency course

(College SA certificate confirming course completion)

The Health, Safety and Nutrition for Young Children course will equip you with the knowledge and skill required to take care of a baby or young toddler successfully.   

The subjects covered in this course include First Aid – Save a Child and Health, Safety and Nutrition for Young Children. 

Once you have completed this course, you will receive a College SA certificate of completion. 

Entrance requirements: Grade 10 certificate, able to read and write English and be at least 16 years of age. 

Study the Introduction to Child Psychology Proficiency course

(College SA certificate confirming course completion)

This course will teach you how to communicate with young children and how to identify learning difficulties. You will also learn how to help children learn in a way that best suits them.   

The subjects covered in this course include Child Development, Learning Psychology and Communicating with Children. 

Once you have completed this course, you will receive a certificate of completion. 

Entrance requirements: Grade 10 certificate, able to read and write English and be at least 16 years of age.

Study the Au Pair Short course

(College SA certificate confirming course completion)

This short course will teach you how to provide first aid in the case of an injury in a young child. You will also learn how to communicate with children, entertain them, interact with them and what foods to feed them at different ages. 

The subjects covered in this course include First Aid – Save a Child, Communicating with Children and Au Pair.

Once you have completed this course, you will receive a certificate of completion. 

Entrance requirements: Grade 10 certificate, able to read and write English and be at least 16 years of age. 

Study the Child Day Care Proficiency course

(College SA certificate confirming course completion)

This Child Day Care Proficiency course will give you a better understanding of child development and how to interact with a young child to help them develop their cognitive and sensory skills.

The subjects covered in this course include Introduction to Business English, Entrepreneurship and Child Day Care Level 2. 

Once you have completed this course, you will receive a certificate of completion. 

Entrance requirements: Grade 10 certificate, able to read and write English and be at least 16 years of age. 

Study the Child Day Care Skills course

(College SA certificate confirming course completion)

This Child Day Care Skills course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to take care of a young child. You will learn how to assess a young child and know which toys will be appropriate for which stage in a child’s life. 

The subjects covered in this course include Child Day Care Level 3, Marketing Management and Developmental Milestones (Activities and Safety Module). 

Once you have completed this course, you will receive a certificate of completion. 

Entrance requirements: Successful completion of the Child Day Care Proficiency Certificate
