This short course is an introductory course. It will teach you the basics of events management and give you a better understanding of what to expect from the world of events. At the end of this course, you will be able to plan an informal party or event.
The subjects covered in this course include Your Career in Events, The World of Events, Events in Practice.
Once you have completed this course, you will receive a College SA certificate of completion.
Entrance requirements for this course: Grade 10, able to read and write English and at least 16 years of age.
Study the Events Co-ordination Proficiency course
(College SA certificate confirming course completion)
The Events Co-ordination Proficiency course will equip you with the skills to plan your first event independently. You will learn how to network, build business relationships and increase clientele. You will also learn about the relationship between South African events and the tourism industry.
The subjects covered in this course include Networking for Success, Project Teams, Basic Events Management and Events and Tourism.
Once you have completed this course, you will receive a College SA certificate of completion.
Entrance requirements for this course: Successful completion of the Events Co-ordination Short Course.
Study the Events Co-ordination Skills course
(College SA certificate confirming course completion)
The Skills course in Events Co-ordination will prepare you for a career in events. You will learn how to execute an event from start to finish and how to promote yourself as an events manager so that you can get more clients.
The subjects covered in this course include Advanced Events Management, The Business of Events and Events Design.
Once you have completed this course, you will receive a College SA certificate of completion.
Entrance requirements for this course: Successful completion of the Events Co-ordination Proficiency Course.
Study the Business Events Management Advanced course
(College SA certificate confirming course completion)
If you are considering specialising in business events, then this is the course for you. The Business Events Management Advanced course builds on the Events Co-ordination Skills course. You will learn how to specifically plan business-related events such as conferences, fundraisers and launches.
This course only has one subject: Business Events Management.
Once you have completed this course, you will receive a College SA certificate of completion.
Study the Entertainment Events Management Advanced course
(College SA certificate confirming course completion)
If you want to specialise in entertainment events, then this is the right course for you. You will learn how to plan festivals and how to source and book entertainment, artists or musicians for the event. This course builds on the Events Co-ordination Skills course, which means that you must first complete the Skills course before you can register for the Advanced course.
This course only has one subject: Entertainment Events Management.
