Who can enrol for a College SA course?

  • Anyone over the age of 16 can enrol for a non-accredited course
  • You must be able to read and write English
  • Anyone with a Grade 10 school certificate can apply for a non-accredited course
  • Our accredited courses may require a Grade 10, Grade 11 or Grade 12

Why is being able to read and write English important?

All our study material is written in English, and all assignments must be completed in English. Since you will be studying via distance learning, you will not attend face-to-face classes, so you won’t have a lecturer that will be able to translate concepts into your mother tongue. Our support staff provide subject matter support in English.

What subjects do I need to apply for college?

Our courses have various entry requirements. For example, the entrance requirements for an accredited course will be higher than the entrance requirements for a non-accredited course.

Before submitting your application for an accredited bookkeeping and accounting course, ensure that you meet the entrance requirements. You can also speak with one of our Education Planners to confirm whether you meet the entrance requirements.

Below is a breakdown of our various entry requirements.

  • Learners must be at least 16 years of age
  • The ability to read and write English

Do I have to pre-register to enrol the following year?

No, our courses do not require pre-registration. At College SA, we believe students should be able to sign up for a course whenever they want to. This is why our college registration is open all year round.

You also do not have to worry about standing in queues to enrol for college. Our college applications are done online, via email, or telephone. For more information regarding course registration, fill in the form on our website or call us on 0861 663 663.

What are the College SA application fees?

Upon registration, each student is required to pay a R950 registration fee. The R950 registration fee applies to all courses. After that, you will be required to pay your course either once off, in monthly instalments or per subject. For a detailed course fees list, visit our College SA Course Fees page.

What payment options are available if I enrol to study with College SA?

Pay the full course fee upfront – When you choose to pay upfront, you have to pay the full course fee by point of enrolment. Discount for the R950 registration fee will be given if a full payment is made (no registration fee). We will send you all your study material once payment is confirmed and you are enrolled.

Pay in monthly instalments – When you choose the monthly instalment option, you have to pay the R950 registration on registration. Your first monthly instalment will be due the following month. Please note that all our courses have different monthly instalments. If you are unsure what the instalment will be for the course you are applying for, speak to one of our Educational Planners. Monthly instalments will only be accepted via debit order.

Can I apply for a bursary with the College?

We are a private TVET College and currently do not offer any bursaries (outside any promotions) or financial support.

Do you offer classes?

We are a fully distance learning institution; we DO NOT offer any classes. You study from the comfort of your own home.

I’m not from South Africa but would like to study with College SA?

  • For accredited courses you would need to approach SAQA and submit your highest qualification for evaluation against South African standards.
  • If living in South Africa, we would need a permit from Home Affairs and you should have an active South African bank account.
  • If you are living outside South African Borders we will need to make an alternative payment arrangement. Please be aware that there will be extra charges in regards to delivery of study material.
